Awesome was built in Fremantle, Western Australia by boat building company Condor Marine and sailed to New Zealand in 2009 to begin a career servicing the local Bluff community. In 2018, Awesome was sold to a family of fishing and diving enthusiasts who established Awesome Charters.

How big is the boat?
Awesome is a 63ft (18.4 metre) Alloy Charter Vessel operating out of Bluff. She is surveyed for up to 25 passengers inshore /35 passengers enclosed waters, with ample space to move around.

What certifications does the boat have?
Awesome Charters are fully certified to carry up to 35 passengers (SSM Certificate), comply with all MSA requirements and are a Certified Amateur-Fishing Charter Vessel.

What facilities are on board?
In 2011 Awesome had a complete refit. This included fully equipped galley and dining area with ample seating, sleeping accommodation for 12, toilet and shower and hiab mounted on deck. The hiab is capable of lifting 750kg with the arm fully extended and 2.5 tonne in close.

About the Crew
Awesome is operated locally by Skipper Steve, Miriam and Peter B who are all passionate about hosting fishing, diving and nature enthusiasts aboard Awesome and ensuring they get to experience something very special amongst some of New Zealand’s most stunning scenery.
Whether you want to go out with friends to get Bluff Oysters (Seasonal), catch some Blue Cod, or even go away for a few days diving / fishing and or hunting, this crew will ensure that your experience is unique, safe and enjoyable.
